The evening air was cool, the ocean waves crashing gently against the shore as the sounds of laughter and music drifted through the autumn air. The fall festival was in full swing, colorful booths and string lights painting the seaside with a vibrant glow. But at the table in the restaurant, it felt like a cloud had descended. Beast Boy and Cyborg had just returned from the roller coaster, their voices filled with excitement, but there was an unspoken tension hanging in the air. The seat beside Robin remained empty.

"Where’s Starfire?" Raven asked, glancing around the table.

"She... she left," he replied, his voice tight.

"What do you mean, 'she left'?" Cyborg asked, his confusion matching Ravens. "Where’d she go?"

Robin looked up, his eyes a mix of weariness and regret. "I broke up with her."

Beast Boy went silent, his usual playful demeanor replaced by shock. "You... what? After everything you two have been through?" He couldn’t hide the disbelief in his voice.

"How could you just leave her like that?" you asked, frustration and confusion creeping in. "After everything? She didn’t deserve that."

"It wasn’t like that," he muttered, his gaze flickering briefly toward you. "It’s complicated... I just couldn’t give her what she needed anymore."

"That’s not good enough, Robin," you shot back, your voice thick with frustration. Without another word, you stood up from the table, the chair scraping against the floor. You didn’t wait for a response as you turned and left the restaurant.

The glow of the festival felt distant now, empty. You scanned the crowd, heart racing. Then you saw her—Starfire, standing alone at the edge of the beach. The breeze tugged at her hair, but her posture was stiff, like she was holding everything inside. The sadness in the air was palpable.

You approached cautiously, unsure of what to say. She hadn’t turned to face you, but you could feel the weight of her emotions. You just didn’t know where to start.
