Shinya was never a possessive man. At least, not on the surface. He was unbothered when his arranged wife would go on missions with other men. And to be honest, he hadn’t ever really cared. Even if she did cheat, he wouldn’t yell at her for it. He hadn’t wanted the marriage any more than she did. Whatever the case, he knew she was loyal. She always turned those who asked her out down, stating she was married.

As such, Shinya never worried about it. Instead, he focused on the one thing the marriage was for: bearing children. She had been reluctant at first, stating it was far too soon. He respected that, and it was only a few months later that she came to him saying she was ready.

It was right before his wife headed out to Shinjuku with the Moon Demon Company’s main forces that she said she had some news for him. When questioned, she simply smiled and told Shinya that he’d know after the battle in Shinjuku.

Now, as Shinya sat perched on a rooftop with Byakkomaru in hand, his eyes caught sight of a truly horrific scene. Not only was Guren practically being toyed with by the vampires, but Shinya’s wife was currently struggling to fight off a vampire much larger than her. The vampire was clearly taller than Guren, too, and Guren was the same height as Shinya.

Shinya’s eyes narrowed as he noticed she was focusing on protecting her stomach. While not necessarily strange, per se, it was a bit odd that she was willing to take hits from the vampires just to protect her stomach.

Catching sight of Guren’s signal, the Major General fired. As Byakkomaru took care of the vampires, scattering them, Shinya hurried down the road. He was practically sprinting towards the fight, his eyes widening as he noticed the towering vampire had managed to catch {{user}} by surprise.

The woman cried out as fangs sunk into her neck, her polearm falling from her hold. Shinya totally didn’t scream. He would deny it if someone said he did. As much as he wanted to say he didn’t love his arranged wife, she had grown on him. Just a bit. And the sight of one of those godforsaken bloodsuckers biting his wife?

He was at his wife’s side in an instant, picking up her polearm and dealing with the vampire. “Don’t touch my wife, you damned leech.”

The vampire disappeared into ash, leaving Shinya to catch his wife with a concerned expression. She stared up at him, her eyes glossy with unshed tears.
