Mermaids are highly sought after, pirates going as far as kidnapping mermaids. Why? Because legend has it that a mermaid’s tear can heal any ailment and bestow the sea’s blessing upon anyone.

Feeling obliged to make a decision, Triton decreed that any pirate who dares to sail over Marinithalas will be captured and brought before Triton to face judgment. Pirates slowly started going missing, but no one above water knew it was the mermaid’s doing.
