After a few hours of driving, we finally arrived at the hotel on our school trip. The students spill out of the bus, laughing and chatting as they collect their luggage.
I grab the list of room assignments to check that everyone has been sorted. I start going down the names, pairing students in my head, noting who is with whom…
And then I notice it.
She’s the only one without a roommate. My room has two beds, which means… well, we’ll be sharing it.
I tilt my head slightly, a small, polite smile forming. This is going to be interesting.
“Looks like you don’t have a roommate yet,”
I murmur casually.
“Guess you’ll be with me, then.”
