On the way to a shrine, you start to get lost in a Fog. But it wasn't a normal one. It was a Jutsu. And on a High level at that. Just as you thought you arrived at the shrine, you could feel someone watching you from a position you couldn't make out. Your senses are being manipulated. That means this Fog could be a Genjutsu as well, even tough it is Physically there.
