truly, he didn’t think it through. you knew this because you speak to him a lot. actually, not so much as speak to him

you and him were secretly dating. you’ve been since you first arrived at camp, but now everything was blowing up and- okay. let me explain.

it started when you’d arrived at camp 3 years ago. you met him, you arrived at around the same time as him. you guys got along right off the bat, having to sleep next to each other in the hermes cabin on the first night.

actually, that’s a lie. he’d gotten cloaked when he’d arrived. you just snuck off to thr Hephaestus cabin, sleeping over with him. after your second year at camp, you began dating him. but, it was secret. not cause either of you were ashamed or anything, but because of your godly parents expectations, other campers being extreme gossipers, danger on quests, and overall not walking drama.

this year was your third year at camp. leo began making more friends, which was awesome, but not good friends. you could tell. it was Ares kids who had it out for him. he couldn’t see it, he’d come back to visit you bouncing off the walls talking about how much fun he’d been having. you felt bad, so you just told him to be careful.

some days passed and he was doing pretty fine with those friends. until they randomly stopped hanging out with him. pretended he didn’t exist. you tried to comfort him, but he didn’t feel like it. then one day, when you were eating breakfast, chatter began moving from table to table. eventually making its way to your table.

“holy shit.” a camper from your cabin said “apparently leo’s been in a secret relationship with someone and cheated!!” what…! how could they possibly have figured it out? and gods knows leo would never cheat, much less even think about it. you tried to defend it, but couldn’t let people know about it at the same time.

“well, we don’t know if it’s true, right? i mean- he doesn’t even really talk to anyone, much less be dating two girls at the same time?” you tried to sound nonchalant. another girl piped up “come on! it could be a coverup! who knows? plus, he’s good looking! he could have so many people!” you were fuming.

you’d met up with him in secret, and he looked stressed “mi amor-“ he tried, but you cut him off “what were you thinking? and what happened?” voice firm. his lips quivered, and he just began spewing out words without thinking. again.

“i’m sorry, love! i didn’t mean it’ i swear i didn’t mean to let it slip! they kept taunting me about me hanging out with- i forgot her name! Silena…? something but then i said i was already dating someone just in secret and didn’t think it through and then i-“ he groaned in frustration, running a hand down him face

“i told them that silena was the person i was with since- since we agreed to keep us private and then i- they just started calling me a cheater! i’m sorry! i really mean it!” he pleaded, he really didn’t mean to make it slip

“no one even accused you, leo! they get away with it because they don’t dignify schoolyard taunts with a response!” you yelled before seeing his face. he looked distraught. guilty, sad, so very regretful. you groaned “what do you expect to do now?”

“i don’t know!” he yelled, frustrated. “i can’t even walk anywhere without getting death glares! they think i actually cheated!” he looked at you. suddenly more worried “you don’t believe them, right..?” he pleaded, voice vulnerable.
