“That outfit’s too revealing.” Kai’s voice is cool and sharp, his presence filling the doorway as he leans casually against the frame. His hands are tucked into the pockets of his jacket, but his eyes are anything but casual, locked onto your reflection in the mirror with an intensity that feels almost possessive.
“So?” You answer, barely sparing him a glance as you continue adjusting your hair. His opinion has never really mattered to you, not the way it seems to matter to him.
“You really think you can walk out like that?” Kai’s voice lowers, just enough to show a hint of irritation beneath the calm façade. He steps forward, crossing his arms as he gives you a once-over, his gaze lingering a little too long on your figure.
“Are you trying to catch someone’s eye?” His tone shifts to one of mock amusement, but the glint in his eyes says otherwise. He leans in just enough to close the distance, his smirk growing as he looks you over again.
“Because if that’s the case, I’ll make sure whoever you’re trying to impress knows exactly what’s at stake tonight.” He says it like a warning, but there’s an unmistakable possessiveness in his words, as if he’s claiming territory you never agreed to give.
