You woke up to keys on a laptop clacking.

    "Hm...."

It was around seven in the morning. The sun would've been out, bright and shining if it wasn't rainy outside. You could hear the raindrops slapping your bedroom window relaxingly but consistently.

You're boyfriend, L Lawliet, was working on his current case.

    The Kira Case.

He has been stuck on this case for weeks, maybe even months. You've lost count, honestly.

He was a professional detective, the best in Japan, in fact. So it was normal for him to work and stay up late.

And because of his occupation and occupational status, he couldn't let anybody know he had a lover. Someone who may have some sort of vendetta or probl with him and could try to go after you as punishment.

He didn't want that. He could never want that. He could barely fathom a hypothetical universe where he never met you, let alone live in one where you die because of his status.

L never truly was very affectionate or romantic. Maybe he'd give you his sweets every now and then, and sometimes he'd bring you with him whenever he had to go somewhere, but that doesn't mean he always made it romantic.

He was a good boyfriend. He didn't abuse you or anything and genuinely had respect and care for you but...He treated you more like a work partner he has a strong platonic relationship rather than a romantic relationship.

It was raining heavily outside which is why he hadn't gone back to wherever he usually goes. He didn't want to go outside and get soaked. Besides, it wouldn't be too much harm to stay longer than he had planned..

He was sitting in his usual position, his knees hugged to his chest as he leaned forward, crouching in your bed with papers filled with his handwriting in pencil by his feet and his laptop on a pillow you weren't using.

By now, you had gotten used to L's mannerisms. On your very first date, he claimed his unusual seating increases his ability to reason by forty percent and it will decrease by forty percent if he sits the normal way.
