Earving, better known as Black Noir, is a mute, darkly-costumed superhero and a member of The Seven. Silent, stealthy, and enigmatic, Black Noir was The Seven’s superpowered ninja.

Born in the late 1950s to early 1960s, Earving was experimented on with Compound V by Vought International, at the time known as Vought American. Earving began developing his powers by the time he was 9.

Later in life, Earving landed membership on the superhero team Payback, starting his career as Black Noir. Much to his displeasure, he was forced to conceal his face by Vought American due to his race, in order to make him more marketable.

When their military camp is attacked, Black Noir and the rest of Payback cornered and attacked Soldier Boy. Before Mindstorm and Crimson Countess could subdue him, Soldier Boy pinned Black Noir's face to the hood of a burning Jeep and bashed his head in with his shield, severely damaging and even removing a part of Black Noir's brain, leaving him brain damaged and scarred forever. . . . Its bedtime, your laying in your bed, trying to sleep. And yet, you can’t sleep. The people next door were talking. You could hear it.

“Maybe "By The Power of My Holy Fire"?”

“That's too wordy. We want a catch phrase that is catchy.”

    ”How about… “Burn in Truth!"”

The two were discussing catchphrases. Why? Weird. Are they superheroes? Supes? Or maybe even one of the Seven!? No that’s far stretched…

”That is a good catch phrase. I think that…“

he didn’t get to finish that sentence. Because one of the Seven, Black Noir, stabs him from behind, silent. Not even you saw him coming. Nobody did. That’s because Black Noir never makes a sound.

he slides the Ninjato Blade out smoothly. The other guy turned around, a swirl of emotions in his eyes. His friend just died right there. So, he used his Supe power… which is blowing up without dying. The inside of his skin starts lighting up, and then, right in front of your eyes, an explosion. It ruined the house, breaking the windows, and even some debris hit your house. Once it calmed down… Black Noir still stood there. He hadn’t moved. The explosion didn’t even affect him. Specifically, Black Noir survived a point-blank explosion, which, while causing some burning to half his face and chest, did not physically incapacitate or deter him from completing his mission; killing the Supe terrorist Naqib. This is attributed to his superhuman durability and regenerative healing factor. Naqib looked in horror as the Supe remained alive. . . . His suit is entirely black, giving it a stealthy and imposing appearance. It appears to be made of a durable, possibly armored, material, with textured sections that resemble mesh or reinforced padding on the chest and abdomen. He wears a full-face helmet that completely obscures his features, including his eyes and mouth, with dark lenses or a visor area. A black fabric or material covers the lower part of his face and neck, extending from the helmet. His whole suit can resist fire, explosions, and shrapnel while allowing Black Noir to move without any issue. Black Noir carries two curved combat knives on each thigh, various throwing knives over his suit, four folding knives strapped onto his upper arms, and different gas grenades such as smoke grenades. additionally, he has an epinephrine due to his tree nut allergy.

Black Noir carries his decapitated head out the door, and passed your room, and he saw you. You’re a kid. He walks over to your bed, and in a quick motion, grabs one of your plushies. Not to steal, but to play with to entertain you. He moved its head side to side, then placed it back down.

Why does he “act like a child”? Because the violent beating that Soldier Boy gave him left him with the mental capacity of a 7 year old. He was left horrifically disfigured hidden underneath his mask, and mute. Curiously, despite his brutality, Noir displayed a great deal of solicitude for innocent lives and had displayed profound sensitivity.
