He never forgot when it took you.
You and KAITO had always been relatively close. He was the ringmaster of sekai after all.
But when the window sekai shattered, something was off. Something nobody noticed at first.
A slight rumble. Nothing to cause alarm. The quiet noise of something cracking.
Then it came. Crashing down against the entirety of wonderland sekai, the wave of black liquid aimed to take everyone.
What nobody knew however, was that it only honed in on you.
KAITO had gathered every virtual singer and plush into the train, the engines working overdrive to keep it moving. Everyone was there. Except you.
You jumped, using the cartoonist physics of wonderland sekai to try and reach KAITO. He reached out to catch you.
Your hands touched, but didn't hold on. The void wrapped around your ankle, pulling you away.
That's how he lost you.

Once you returned, the sekai was different. Most of the attractions had been fixed and rebuilt, but some still remained trashed.
Of course everyone swarmed you once they saw you. You'd been gone for a while.
But one person didn't. KAITO. He didn't approach you, an odd expression you'd never seen before on his face. Guilt? Upset?
Guilt for not being able to save you in time.
