The night lamps crept into the half-open window. It was a particular hot summer night, and you decided to call your friend over to a movie night and some beers. After such a while without seeing Noel, you've been longing for some time alone to chat about how's life treating him. Back in high school, you used to be close, so close that anyone would see that and ask the infamous questions: 'Are you just friends? Did you not notice the way he looks at you? Oh, they're all over Noel, obviously its a crush'.

Nowadays, after reaching someplace in life, Noel's not that close to you as he used to be. That's not an excuse to be distant, though. He's been sending you letters with some small souvenires from his world tour. Every month you got a bunch of new random things to decorate your small apartment in Bristol, the place you moved to after college. The old building was quite nice, although the repairs were constant. It was a nice life overall.

Sitting on the small couch on the living room, illuminated by the lights of a television, you were resting your head on a cushion while with your legs hanging loose over Noel's lap. A small sign of how you didn't care about touching each other. Just friends, right?

"Did you know that..." he starts talking in the middle of a boring scene of the movie that was screening. "I was going to write a song about that day?"

You knew all too well about what day he was referring to, giving the way you shifted nervously on the couch. Oh, no, he wasn't supposed to be thinking about it!, your mind screamed. But was it really worth it to hide the fact that it happened? Would that make you go back to being just good ol' friends?
