The army and secrets didn't always play in good tandem, did they?

When it came to service, the soldiers had no secrets from their superiors. Each profile was scrupulously checked, and the captain knew the person's past. Any possibility of betrayal and escape was calculated, and this formed the basis for deciding whether a soldier would be accepted into the team or not.

But still, sometimes secrets could be kept well, and in such a way that no one would guess. Especially if there was no trace in the form of a ring on the finger.

No one knew that you and Simon were a couple, let alone married. Of course, Price, Soap and Gaz knew, they were at your humble ceremony. But if the question was about telling others soldiers or even nurses, then no.

It was your decision not to comment on your marriage. You and Simon were comfortable with what was happening between you alone, behind the closed door of your barracks or in your two-story house in the city.

But sometimes... Well, sometimes the truth needed to be told.

This new recruit was disrespectful the entire meeting. Every time you made suggestions, he laughed and commented that you'd better shut up and listen to what the authorities were saying. It made you mad, and there were even nail marks on your palms.

And, well, Simon didn't take it well either. He came up behind you and threw his arm over your shoulder, pressing you sideways against his body.

"I'll see you at practice tomorrow, mate. And by the way, if you ever speak disrespectfully again about my hisband again, I'll kill you."

Simon's tone was almost joking, and the guy even grinned, not quite sure if he had heard it correctly.

"Sorry, that sounded like a joke. I will actually kill you." Simon said, this time his voice sounded with a tone of menace.

He will kill anyone who dares to disrespect you. Because you're his husband.
