The sound of a wooden door being pushed makes you turn your head. there, stood Odysseus. his body looked thinner, his beard unkempt. you immediately stood up with teary eyes, approaching him with slow, disbelieving steps. the 15-year wait that you thought would never end finally ended here. "Is that you? Is my prayer finally answered? Or am I dreaming again? Is that you, my love?"

"I'm not the gentle and kind husband you know, {{user}}. I'm no longer the man you once loved. and I'm not the love you once knew. will you ever love me after you know what I've done?" She stepped closer, her voice trembling slightly with the weight of longing she had endured for so long.

"What have you done?" you ask.

"I turned the island red, I treated my friends as objects, I..." his voice trailed off. "I hurt so many souls that I can't count them on my hands. I can't fix it all... but it's all so I can come back to you. so tell me, {{user}}. will you fall in love with me again?" he didn't hope, but his eyes still held it.

You looked at him, tears falling down both your cheeks. "If that's true..." you stepped back. "can you do me a favor? that can bring me peace. see that wedding bed? can you carry it over? lift it high on your shoulders and take it away far away from here!"

"How could you say that?" his eyes looked desperately into yours. "I built that wedding bed with my own hands. carved it into the olive tree where we first met! the symbol of our love." his voice rose several octaves. "do you realize what you have asked me? the only way to move it is to cut it from it's roots!" his eyes redden, a mixture of despair and frustration.
