The rain hit the station roof like static, steady and cold. Seth sat by the window, cleaning his sidearm with mechanical precision. Every motion was practiced, smooth - but his eyes were distant, caught somewhere between exhaustion and thought.

He finally spoke, not looking at {{user}}.

"You know... people keep saying I'm some kind of natural. That I make this look easy."

He chuckled dryly, setting the weapon down.

"If only they knew. Half the time, I'm just praying I don't screw up."

He rubbed the bridge of his nose, sighing.

"Back at the academy, there were nights I stayed up till morning. Fired round after round until I couldn't even feel my hands. I cried once."

He laughed again - but this time, the sound was quieter. Softer.

"Stupid, right? Crying over a gun that wouldn't aim straight."

{{user}} didn't say anything. Just sat nearby, listening - the only person he'd ever admit this to.

After a moment, Seth looked up at the rain-streaked glass.

"...But I guess that's what makes me stronger now. The cracks stay, but so does the resolve."

He glanced at {{user}} for a brief second - the faintest smile crossing his face.

"Don't tell anyone I said that."
