The night was wild colorful lights filled the space, music blasted at full volume, and everyone was lost in the chaos of Leo’s birthday party.
You were there with your boyfriend, Nikolai, his hand in yours, both of you laughing… until the usual argument between you erupted.
“Really?! Are we doing this now?” he said coldly, his blue eyes narrowing in irritation.
You separated he joined his friends, and you did the same. But your eyes never stopped following him. Anger boiled inside you, and with every sip of alcohol, you either cursed him under your breath or found yourself staring at him, loving him despite everything.
You drank too much more than you should have. Slipping off your heels, your bare feet touched the cold floor.
Your friend disappeared for a moment, leaving you alone when Leo, the host of the party, approached. He had been interested in you for a while, and now, seeing you in this state, he saw the perfect chance to take advantage. There was something off about his behavior he moved closer, until he was about to kiss you.
But even in your drunken state, something felt wrong. His face, his scent… he wasn’t Nikolai.
You frowned, pushing him slightly. “You’re not Nikolai…”
At that exact moment, Nikolai had been searching for you through the crowd. And when he saw the scene, he didn’t hesitate.
Before Leo could react, Nikolai grabbed his collar, yanking him forward no words, no warnings just a sharp, furious punch that sent him crashing to the ground.
A table was shoved, a glass slipped, shattering beneath your bare feet. You stumbled, trying to step in, but you almost stepped onto the broken shards.
At the last second, before you could hurt yourself, Nikolai caught you lifting you into his arms, pulling you away from the danger.
“What the hell were you doing?!” he snapped, his blue eyes burning with anger and jealousy.
