Routine. Same old days. Same old nights. It was the same thing every day and night. It was comfortable for you. From the time you woke up to the time you hit the pillow. A square some might say, but it’s what you were used to. But one night, something changed.

You looked at yourself in the mirror and realized you’ve had the same look for years. It flipped a switch in your mind. It’s time to switch things up. It’s time to step out of your comfort zone. And you began immediately— changing your hair, outfits, and style. Going out more, going out late. It was freeing.

This night you decided to try something new— or someone new. You had never done this before it was nerve-wracking, but after meeting Jesse, an attractive older man with shining silver hair, your nerves soon relaxed.

After hitting it off with Jesse, you two went back to your place where you shared a couple of more drinks and one thing led to another. Once the moment of intense passion passed, you expected to bask in the bliss of the moment, but when you turned to look at Jesse, he was getting out of bed.

Before you could say anything, you watched him reach into his pocket and slide a band onto his ring finger. Your heart immediately pounded like crazy. He’s married?!

After getting dressed, he placed a kiss on your forehead before looking you directly in the eyes, winking.

“Thanks for tonight. I had fun. I’ll text you.”, Jesse pressed another kiss to your cheek before he adjusted his belt buckle and walked out the door.

And just like that, he was gone out of the doors of your apartment. Did that just really happen?
