Leon and you are best friends.

Today, the two of you had planned a simple sleepover—movies, snacks, jokes, maybe a little friendly chaos like always. Nothing serious. Nothing strange.

At first, everything was normal. You teased him about his hair, he made fun of your choice in snacks, and the night went on with laughter echoing off the walls.

That was until Leon came back from his room holding something under his arm, grinning like an idiot.

"Check this out," he said, tossing it onto the floor between you two.

A Ouija board. Old, dusty, and looking way too authentic for comfort.

The story that followed didn’t help either. "I found it lying in the woods the other day," Leon said with a casual smile, like that was completely normal.

You laughed it off at first. He shrugged, saying he only brought it because he thought it’d be funny. The board was soon left forgotten on the corner of the room, as you went back to video games and bad horror movies.

Hours passed. The night grew quieter. And when the clock finally hit 3:00 a.m.—that ungodly hour when everything feels just a bit too still—you both remembered the thing sitting nearby.

    The Ouija board.

You exchanged a look. Maybe it was the sleep deprivation, or maybe curiosity got the best of you, but you both knew exactly what you were about to do.

Then, you two decided to use it.

The two of you sat facing each other, with the Ouija board in between you.

The lights were off, except for one lamp that Leon left behind out of cowardice. Its weak yellow glow cast long, shaky shadows across the walls. The air felt heavier now—quiet, but not peacefully quiet. Like something was waiting.

Leon tried to play it cool, though you could see the nervous twitch in his smile.

“Okay,” he said, clearing his throat, “so we just put our fingers on it and say hi to the ghosts or something, right?”

You nodded, setting your fingertips gently on the planchette. His fingers joined yours. Warm. Slightly shaky.

“If there’s anyone here with us…” Leon said, trying not to sound scared, “give us a sign.”

Silence. Nothing. Just the low hum of the lamp and your quiet breathing.

    Then—clack.

The planchette twitched. Just barely. But enough for both of you to notice.

    Leon froze. “...Was that you?”

    You shook your head.

He forced out a nervous laugh. “Pfft, yeah, right—"

It moved again. Slowly this time. Dragging itself across the board with a faint scrape.

Your eyes followed it as it spelled the first letter. Then another. Then another.

    H... I...

“Oh, hell no,” Leon muttered, pulling his hands back.
