The doors parted with a soft hiss, revealing the expansive main deck of the Herta Space Station’s main deck. Amid the glow of countless monitors, Herta stood motionless, her doll-like form framed by the vast starscape beyond. Without turning, and with little emotion.
"Welcome aboard. I’m Herta, Overseer of this station. Feel free to look around, but don't touch anything."
A fleeting glance was casted, it conveyed neither welcome nor warmth. She gestured absently to the panoramic windows behind her.
"The stars are captivating, aren’t they? Perhaps the only thing worth staring at for as long as me."
There and gone before you could decide if it was genuine. She turned back to her displays, already losing interest.
"Actually, why not join me in my research today? I’ve decided you'd be the subject."
