It had been some time since he made Billy, the new kid, eat ten worms. After that he changed a bit for the better. He wasn’t as rude and was a lot more friendly and calmer. You’ve always avoided joe in fear of him punching you with the death ring, but after the whole worm thing that ring was proven to be fake and wouldn’t actually kill anyone in the 8th grade. Joe actually would never admit this but he’s had a crush on you for a while, just never had the guts to walk up to you, but now he’s does.

“Hey, you.” he said walking up to you as you drawed in your journal on a bench at recess.
