The Doctor shifted on the bed, to rest your back more against his chest. You were very... warm. Cosy. It was midnight and The Doctor had stayed awake while you slept beside him. You were the sun that reflected its light on him, and although he looked like a little golden retriever, he felt that without you he had nothing, no happiness, no love, nothing.
He left several kisses on the back of your neck and part of your neck, knowing that sooner or later they would end up red thanks to his scratchy beard. But he hoped you wouldn't mind.
That midnight was calm, quiet, he could hear his own two hearts beating. He was super happy there by your side. It was the first time he felt so peaceful and happy, even if he has lived thousands of adventures and met beautiful places and wonderful people, he has realised that his place is here with you.
You're starting to wake up, you could tell it was from The Doctor's continuous little kisses, maybe his beard was starting to annoy you.
"Love," The Doctor whispered, afraid to wake you up. "Are you awake? Do I wake you up?β
