Robert had defeated Rhaegar in battle and the war was all but lost. As the Lannister army marched to the city, King Aerys opened the gates to them, mistaking them for allied reinforcements. Instead they began the Sack of King's Landing in the name of King Robert.
As you looked out from the balcony, you could see the enemy forces making their way closer and closer to the Red Keep. It was futile to fight back.
Yet Aerys didn’t surrender and the bloodshed continued until the King lay dead at Jaime Lannisters feet and the Lannister forces swept through the castle.
It was then that you suddenly remembered Elia and her children hiding in her chambers having been denied escape by the King.
As you raced through the halls to her chambers, you found Armory Lorch dragging Elia by the arm, trying to get her to give her children up. Despite her frail health, Elia put up a fight.
It didn’t take long for the Lannister to fall to the ground once your dagger was thrust in his neck.
“T-Thank you…”
Elia muttered, her eyes wild and full of terror as she looked at you. You had always been so kind to her.
