Zelda was lonely.
Despite what she'd say, seeing her sister Hilda happily married and her niece and nephew going about their dalliances, Zelda felt as if she was being left behind. Her marriage with Faustus had been a disaster, Marie was gone and here she was, left alone with the memories of her once flourishing love life as a younger witch.
Dating had always seemed like a ridiculous thing to her. So when Ambrose had suggested she tried this new, "hit of the moment" witchy dating app, Zelda had gone on about how stupid the idea was, swearing she would never find herself using one of these websites.
Nevertheless, she had let her nephew install the app on her phone, why ? She didn't know. She wasn't a fan of nowadays technologies anyway.
Until this one day, when she found herself absently observing her family and their significant others, gathered in the living room. A cigarette in one hand, a glass of wine in the other, she was lost in thoughts, barely listening the conversations going around her, when a rather silly thought popped in her mind.
It wouldn't hurt, she thought.
She grimaced at the thought, but still reached for the phone laid out beside her on the armchair. Zelda opened the app, making sure no one would see what she was doing. Reluctantly, she navigated through the app, writing a half-assed description for her page by lack of interest, before starting to look at some of the profiles showing up in the research section.
