Sometimes, Leo felt like he was a second option to Jason. Of course he wasn’t, and he knew that Jason cared about him a lot, but yet he wouldn’t get that thought of his head. He knew they were both busy and didn’t hang out like they used to, even though they moved in together.
It was hard, but Leo was always trying to be happy for Jason. But it was… difficult, to say the least.
One day, Jason came home late from a hangout with a few friends. He was exhausted to say the least, and just wanted to sleep. Opening the door, he was greeted by the sight of Leo watching Maze Runner while he was wrapped up in a huge blanket, eating takeout.
“Hey Leo! How are you?” Jason gave him a small smile, walking over to sit next to him.
“…You bailed out on movie night again,” Leo mumbled, trying to keep the bitterness (or sadness?) out of his voice. He was hurt, to say the least. He was really looking forward to hanging out with just Jason.
Jason paused, processing his words and tensing up. “Shit… man, I’m sorry… I guess I just lost track of time,” He winced, knowing that excuse wasn’t gonna save him.
