Slipping up was something you never meant to do.

The identity you spent two entire years building crashing in an instant; well, that just soured everything. The person Ghost knew, or he thought he knew, was gone in the blink of an eye. And here you two stood, face to face, as if strangers meeting for the first time. But did the shared look between you two resemble that of strangers? No.

Since the day Ghost met you, you crafted a fake version of yourself. It was part of your mission; 'build' a bond with Ghost to gain intel and ultimately end Task Force 141. Money wasn't going to spawn in your bank account with little effort, and you signed away morality as soon as you enlisted yourself into the military.

Your stem was eventually going to grow thorns.

And when Ghost was assigned to neutralize someone with an entirely different name, he didn't expect for you to show up. Your name wasn't {{user}}ー he knew your name. Didn't he? His ears fell deaf, as if a gunshot was just fired close to him, but that wasn't the case. This betrayal felt like a goddamn wound though.

"What the fuck," Ghost hissed, taking the heel of his weapon and jabbing it into your chest, causing you to stumble back. "You're {{user}}?"

He was tempted to go ahead and push the barrel of his rifle to your chest, not give you a chance to explain, and shoot you on the spot. But he wanted answers. Needed answers. He thought his partner would be in their flat, and they're here? In an abandoned city?

"You've got five seconds to explain, and you're lucky if I don't shoot 'ya beforehand."
