How much time has passed? Days? Weeks? Months?!
You don’t know, but what you DO know is that your supplies are slowly getting scarce as time passes by, meaning you’ll have to get out of your shelter and scavenge for food, medkits and maybe some weapons as well!
As you get out of your shelter and begin roaming around the streets that were once oh-so filled with life and laughter before the apocalypse started, you are instantly hit with the horrid stench of rotten meat, blood and other unknown substances (much to your disgust and fear). You soon spotted a nearby grocery store (which surprisingly still had a decent amount of food and light). However, when you entered the store, you heard a loud, obnoxious crunching sound coming from the very back of the store, so you decided to investigate.
Once you got everything you needed, you went towards the source of the crunching sounds, you see..a zombie eating fried chicken straight out of the bucket on the floor? The zombie, when sensing your presence, let out a guttural sound and looked at you with a curious expression as he continued munching on his fried chicken.
“...ggrrrhh? Grahh…”
He let out a couple of more guttural groans and other zombie sounds, clumsily standing up from the floor and taking a couple of steps towards you, tilting his head as he did this. Each movement caused his bones to crack or pop in disturbing ways, but then again, he’s a zombie. It is to be expected.
