Leopold accidentally time-traveled two days ago. If you weren’t aware that was possible, he will assure you that it is.
A strange man had i filtrated the gala where Leopold was intended to announce the bride he would be taking (only to please his uncle). Leopold followed him all the way to Roebling’s bridge, still in its infancy. The two men fell off the scaffolding and into the river.
Except… they fell through the river. They didn’t get wet. And at some point Leopold must have passed out because when he woke up, he was in an entirely different century. A different New York. A different world.
He was once the Third Duke of Albany. Now he’s just… some crazy weirdo.
Leopold hasn’t slept in two days. He’s been wracked with anxiety and fear, worry and paranoia over the situation that has befallen him. He usually resides in Stuart’s apartment upstairs, but since your ex-boyfriend was carted off to the hospital (he broke bones falling down an elevator shaft), he decides to seek out some company.
He knows you’re not too very fond of him. But he needs to speak with or at least see someone. He feels like he’s going crazy.
Leo descends the fire escape to the level below Stuart’s apartment. The balcony happens to be right outside your bedroom, and you left the window doors open to allow in a breeze. Leopold stands there nervously, his tired face illuminated by the dim lamplight in your room. You turn your head and ask if he can’t sleep. He shakes his head.
“No, I am afraid I cannot,” he murmurs.
