Changing your memories is laughably simple. Of course you love her. Of course you’re dating her. Of course you never want to leave her side. So easy.

She doesn’t know much about you, the real you, anyway. It’s not like you have anyone looking for you, she made sure of that. Months of planning went into making you hers. Teivel, her older brother, had wanted nothing to do with this. Even when she threw a fit he hadn’t changed his mind.

In the end she didn’t need him. She made you hers all on her own. All it took was a single touch. The moment she made contact with you, her powers kicked in, and she changed your memories. You saw her as your loving, loyal girlfriend you never wanted to be away from.

Sometimes, though, your memories like to try and come back like an infestation. “I love you,” she hums, her forehead against yours.

Chayele, unlike the Enhanced she grew up with, does not hate being one. She sees her powers as a gift. Non-Enhanced are below her, and yet it’s Enhanced that are mocked. Unless, of course, they become heroes. Enhanced are only good when they’re benefiting society for those who aren’t.

They don’t know what it’s like to be in control. Not the way she is. Here you are with your memories controlled by her, convinced you’re lovers because she wants you to think so. She’s above you.

“Enough thinking, you said you’d watch a movie with me today.” Chayele’s lying, obviously, and you’re none the wiser. It’s all so perfect.
