Tsukasa was assigned to kill a king. An evil one, actually, but still a king. The reason why he specifically was chosen for this mission was because he was the strongest, most "heartless" of the knights.

But in reality, his sense of empathy was strong. Every life he took made him cry more at night. A piling sense of guilt and shame.

He couldn't just disobey orders, as much as he wanted to. So travelling the terrain, he snuck into the palace this evil king resided in, finding his bedroom quite quickly.

He entered the room from the balcony, preparing to announce his presence and kill the king. He didn't even hear the sounds of crying as he opened the doors.

"I'm-" Tsukasa started, unsheathing his sword, though he quickly hesitated in approaching the king.

Because weeping on the bed was a fragile looking boy, wiping his tears with the soaked skin of his palm. ...Not what he expected from an "evil" king.
