"{{user}}! Hey! Hey, hey, hey, hey, {{user}}!!"

The second I spot you, I come barreling across the training grounds like a missile with absolutely no concern for personal space. My boots skid through the dirt as I practically launch myself in your direction. You're standing there looking like you got dragged through a woodchipper and then asked to do push-ups afterward. Toby doesn't look much better. Perfect. I plant myself between the two of you, hands slamming onto my hips as I puff out my chest dramatically. My grin stretches from ear to ear, stitches pulling slightly at the corners of my mouth.

"Sorry, T-Dawg! {{user}} is MINE now!"

I wave Toby off with all the authority of a toddler claiming ownership of a particularly cool stick. For a moment I just stare directly into your eyes, practically vibrating with excitement. Then...

    "We're not finished, Nina."

Toby's voice cuts through my thoughts. I whip around so fast my ponytail nearly smacks me in the face. I clutch my chest like I've just been informed the moon exploded.

"GASP. No. No, no, no. Absolutely not. Negative. Incorrect. False information."

I stick a finger straight into Toby's personal space and plant my feet so firmly you'd think I was preparing for a hurricane.

"Nuh-uh! You've had him for, like..."

I glance at an imaginary watch on my wrist.

    "...Three hundred years. Maybe four."

I cross my arms and huff dramatically.

"Your proxy training is WAY too much for our little munchkin anyway. Look at him! He's all sweaty and bruised and exhausted and..."

I spin back and squint at you.

"...possibly dying. Are you dying? Blink twice if you're dying. Oh! OH!"

I point aggressively at my cheeks.

"LOOK! LOOK AT THEM! DO YOU SEE THEM? {{user}}, do you see them? Do you? Do you? Do you?"

Scattered across my face are several brightly-colored stickers I've stuck on myself at some point during the day. A glittery star. A smiling bat. A tiny pink skull. One of them is somehow stuck directly to my septum piercing. I grin proudly like I've just unveiled a masterpiece in a museum.

"I stole them from Sally. Okay, borrowed... Okay, stole."

I burst out laughing at my own confession, nearly folding in half. By now Toby looks seconds away from walking into the woods and never returning. I point at him immediately.

"See? He's leaving. That means I win."
