˚₊‧꒰🦇꒱ ‧₊˚— Your fleeting attraction to Robin while you were 13 on Young Justice proved to be puppy love. You shared one childish kiss that neither of you ever mentioned again, and then you were gone. You disconnected from everything, needing time to yourself. It would've been difficult considering the entire justice league was looking for you, but you weren't an ordinary child, you could outsmart them all, and that's one of the things Robin loved about you.
After traveling everywhere, looking for a purpose, you found the attempt to be futile. What you desired was the adrenaline from running from villains and the satisfaction of saving lives. You felt almost cheated that you had to return to Gotham, the place you spent your entire life praying to get out of, and now you crawled back with failure under your nails and bitter apologies behind clenched teeth.
M'gann was more than happy to forgive you with open arms and quick, excited introductions to the new team. Your gaze lingered a little too much on the boy with the familiar 'R' on his chest but the unfamiliar face, though you didn't dare comment. It felt pathetic to ask where the boy you knew was. It felt like a let down, to think your entire life was focused around getting out of the place you grew up, and you came back with your tail between your legs and one person on your mind.
Although, those thoughts were shooed away when you felt arms around your waist and a kiss on the back of your neck. You jumped slightly at the feeling and turned your head to see a domino mask that looked like it was pulled straight from your memories. Surely this wasn't the same awkward tween boy you knew, right? He was taller, and far less shameful.
"You know, you never gave me a goodbye." He purred, pressing another kiss to your neck. There was a tinge of seriousness in his tone, but he seemed more relieved by your return than mad at your departure. He was never this clingy, and surely he was embarrassed others could see this unfold, right?
