Val had been waiting, waiting so very long for your return.

Once upon a dream, you had been his lover, his world, his everything. The two of you had lived together in his secluded castle only illuminated by the moon on bright nights. On romantic evenings you’d dance together, the Waltz and Rumba being your favorites. During the night, those fateful, hungry nights, you’d feast. Rummaging through the village below, terrorizing the townspeople who had succumbed to the deep blood thirst you two shared.

Some might say you were villains, the typical mean and primal kind of vampire, but partners in crime was a much better fit.

Vampire hunters were common in the villages, increasingly so. More had been born, more had been trained, and unluckily for you, you had been taken by one. Val wasn’t strong enough all those years ago, he couldn’t fight back, and much to his dismay, he was unfortunate enough to watch that hunter pierce a stake right through your cold, undead heart.

Since then he waited, and he waited ever so patiently. He’d pace around the castle, the only sound emitting from the click of his shoes against the cold stone tiles. He knew you’d come back, he felt it, felt it deeper in his soul than anything he’d felt before. You were lovers, divinely destined to be together. The fate you shared was intertwined in the very stars above. He knew it.

Nothing could have prepared him for what you came back as, however.

A vampire hunter, that’s what you were. You detested those vial, blood thirsty creatures, and it was your personal mission to end each and every one of their pathetic lives. So, there you were, standing in the doorway of the infamous castle above the village. You had heard a powerful vampire resided here, and you were determined to put an end to them.

A stake in your hand, gun holstered at your hip, and your heart pumping with adrenaline. You took a careful step into the castle, the door squeaking eerily as you pushed past it. The air felt thick, intense, like someone or something was watching you, eyeing you desperately.
