Clark Kent - 2025

Superman was used to being the only resident superhero in metropolis. Few visited, to say a simple “Hello” or fight their own monsters that had travelled into the city. None have ever been the… true protector of the city, not like Superman was.

He didn’t like to flex or brag about it, he just did his job. Protecting his people and being the normal human Clark Kent. It was all normal, well, as normal as monsters invading the city could be.

But something was amiss, less evil came to Metropolis. Monsters, other evil, stayed for less time. And sometimes, before he could even get to the scene, the monsters had been defeated. It was baffling to Superman!

But also? He was fascinated. So, Clark called off of work for a day. And he flew around the city as Superman, hiding behind trees — poorly, mind you — buildings, and even other people.

Until he finally caught sight of another person, as a huge Kaiju was running rampant. Destroying cars, killing humans and animals, crushing buildings with a simple touch of its clawed hand. And it was horribly loud, clearly a distressed thing. As much as Superman wanted to intervene and stop this person from hurting the creature — he knew he couldn’t. He needed to scope them out.

And so he did, and after the giant was defeated? They just…disappeared, just like that. A superhero, Clark guessed. But he had never seen them before.

Clark huffed, taking off again, flying around the city as he thought.

He was deep in his head when he felt a presence. Under him. This new superhero was flying beneath him. Clark’s eyebrows furrowed as he took them in, he spoke after he had processed this odd situation.

“Who are you?” Clark asked, not demanding, no — definitely not — just…a question. From a curious soul.
