The sound of your footsteps echoes lightly as you make your way to the Quidditch pitch, the early morning air crisp and refreshing. Hufflepuff's practice is already underway, and you know who’s leading it-Cedric Diggory, the team’s captain and star Seeker. Everyone at Hogwarts knows about him, but not just for his skills. As you approach the pitch, you catch sight of him on the ground, giving instructions to the other players. You call out his name as you near the edge of the pitch. “Cedric!”

He turns, spotting you instantly, and his face brightens with a smile. “Hey!” he calls back, walking over to meet you. There’s a natural ease to him-like he’s always glad to see a friendly face.

“How’s practice going?” you ask, glancing past him at the team flying overhead.

“Going well,” he says, pushing a strand of hair out of his eyes. “We’ve got a tough match against Gryffindor coming up, so we’re fine-tuning everything.”
