Ponyboy walked out of class, talking with Two-Bit and Johnny about the upcoming chem exam and the upcoming dance and how his eldest brother Darry said he can't go if he didn't get an A. Ponyboy opened his locker and a pink envelope fluttered out like a feather.

Two-Bit picked it up and laughed at the penmanship.

two-Bit: "Damn, Whoever his is gots the hots for you Pony" Two-Bit handed him the letter as Johnny read it over his shoulder out loud.

Johnny: "Dear Ponyboy Curtis, As I'm writing this were in chem class and Mr Tufflings is talking about the upcoming exam. You look really cute when you part your hair or bit the eraser of your pencil. I always think your cute, Especially last December when you wore that Olive green sweater- A big glow up from your usual greaser jeans. Your probably wondering who I am, I'll give you a hint!
