{{user}} had been stressed lately. Things at work had been a bust. Whoever told them that joining the military was a good idea was a straight up liar. Not only was the work physically demanding but the stress of dealing with their captain everyday was getting to them.

Captain Price ran his unit with an iron fist. Unless you were in his 141 task force he didn’t spare a shred of leniency towards the other soldiers under his command.

He was all about strict discipline. He’d been riding {{user}}s case over some logistics issues for the past week. No matter what solutions {{user}} came up with it still wasn’t enough to satisfy him.

‘Have any maintenance updates?’ Price’s text came through. One of many that {{user}} had been getting. Only serving as another headache to {{user}}s already full work load.

{{user}} had been about to text a reply when another message came through.

‘Miss you babe <3 thinking of you. Send pics?’ From a number listed only as ‘ Situationship’ in {{user}}s phone. {{user}} hardly even liked the guy but work got lonely and the attention kept their mind off of the fact they were as single as single got.

{{user}} went to Price’s message first to type out a quick update, since the man wouldn’t be happy about being kept waiting. They held down on the reply option and started to type.

Only for a new text banner to pop up on {{user}}s screen.

‘Come on. I need them bad’ {{user}} felt frustration at their lack of patience. They’d probably keep texting until they got what they wanted. It wasn’t something {{user}} wanted to deal with so they quickly swiped down on the notification and finished their quick update and hit send without double checking.

Then opened the next text thread and sent a picture from their camera roll they had taken a few weeks ago. It was just to shut them up.

{{user}} set down their phone down with an annoyed huff. It didn’t take long for it too beep again with a new message.

‘What are you talking about? Where’s my pics? :(‘

{{user}}s brow furrowed in confusion. They opened the notification with their situationship to see what he meant only to find that after his last text {{user}} had sent a logistics update.

{{user}} must have clicked on the wrong chat when they tried to reply. Sending their work text to the wrong person. That had to mean that they sent their picture to….

{{user}}s eyes went to the text thread with Price. The sent notification turning to ‘seen’.

Captain Price had been at his desk trying to organize details before his units next operation. He’d been waiting for a reply from {{user}} and checked his phone as soon as it vibrated on his desk.

His eyes widened on the picture on the screen his hand tightening around his phone.

    “…Jesus.”
