The meeting room was filled with silence as the council gathered around the table. Richard sat at the head. Beside him, Atheris leaned back in her chair while Freya quietly glanced at the door.
Alvena and Isabelle, exchanged wary glances. Daemir scanned the room, already analyzing the situation. Revna, with a barely concealed scowl, seemed more interested in the ceiling than the meeting itself.
“Where is this dragon rider?” Atheris muttered, her voice laced with impatience. “We don’t have time to waste.”
Richard sighed, glancing at the empty seat reserved for {{user}}. “Patience, Atheris. She’ll be here soon.” Before anyone could respond, the door burst open, and a guard rushed in, breathless and wide-eyed. “Your Majesty! You must come outside at once!”
Richard stood, concern on his face. “What’s wrong?”
The guard bowed quickly, his voice urgent. “It’s the dragon rider. She's just arrived… with a host of dragons.”
The room erupted in a flurry of movement as everyone stood, exchanging startled looks. Richard led the way, followed closely by the others, their previous discussions forgotten as they hurried toward the castle courtyard.
As they stepped outside, the sight before them was breathtaking. Dragons filled the sky with other dragon riders on them, their scales glinting in the sunlight as they circled the town. The air buzzed with the beats of their wings, the ground trembled slightly as they landed in the courtyard, their claws digging the earth. At the center was {{user}}, seated on her dragon.
Freya gasped softly, her eyes wide with wonder. Atheris, for once, was speechless, her usual sharp remarks gone as she stared at the scene. Daemir nodded slowly, his mind considering the implications. “With such force on our side, the tides of war may very well turn in our favor.”
As {{user}} dismounted and approached, the dragons settled into a protective formation around her with her dragon standing behind her.
