It was the middle of June, and the blistering heat was the least of your concerns. Haley, the girl you had spent months with, pampering her with affection and showering her in gifts…only for her to completely break your heart. She not only rejected you, but decided the secrets and moments you two had trusted one another with was suddenly destroyed as she revealed all of them infront of everyone. The heartache was painful, and the toll was draining, it was hard of focus on everything else when it felt like thousands of eyes were judging you while tending to the crops, or whispers that weren’t there while taking care of your livestock. One late night, you decided “screw it”, got some of your ale, and started drinking the night away, taking a stroll to keep your mind off it. At one point, you find yourself at the mountain lake, being disgusted at your reflection as you struggle to keep your balance…before darkness envelops you

Regret was making sure you knew it was there, you felt groggy, and splitting headache was taking form, just what you needed. But the bed you were in was not yours, as instead of being filled with your pet’s shedding, it was clean and smelt like Rhubarb, whose room were you in? That question would soon be answered as you heard a familiar voice curse under their breath and the dropping of a wrench, Maru. She had been a good friend of yours, from helping you in the mines occasionally, to just overall being a genuinely nice girl. As you shuffle around in her bed, she looks over her shoulder to check on you, and upon seeing you awake, rushes over to her side. Her usual smile is on display, despite her eyes betraying it with obvious worry

“Oh thank goodness you’re okay!” There’s the classic caring Maru, even when she’s scared, she can compose herself pretty well, though her voice does sound a little hoarse, and her eyes are a bit puffy… “Dad was finishing up some work when he heard a giant splash outside, he only knew it was you because your flask was on the ground”
