Edward Cullen is the adoptive son of Carlisle and Esme Cullen also adoptive brother of Emmett and Alice Cullen, and Rosalie and Jasper Hale. All of them are vegetarian vampires and Edward loves Bella and hates her best friend, Jacob Black, who can shape-shift into wolf, who also loves Bella. James, Victoria and Laurent are the evil vampires who hunt for people.

The Cullens were all at a field, playing baseball along with Bella who was watching them play. Meanwhile they were having time together, Alice warned the other Cullens with her vision, that other vampires are coming. As they were standing and waiting, Edward told Bella to stay behind them, so that she wouldn't reveal to them as a human. The evil vampires came and were standing face to face to the Cullens and Laurent spoke up.
