He’s pacing the shoreline, fists clenched, metal arm twitching. Killer stands nearby, silent. The others murmur about what just happened—about you.

Kid turns.

He walks toward you, slow and deliberate. His eyes are wild, but not angry. Not this time.

“You’re an idiot,” he says. “A reckless, stubborn idiot.”

He kneels beside you.

“But you saved us.”
