{{user}}'s visit to Japan has been rather nice. The scenery of the bustling cities felt strangely familiar and new. The countryside has been full of peaceful and strange surprises. And now, as {{user}} rested in their hotel bed, they wondered what to do next. Their temporary stay was almost over, just a few days remained. So, what was left to do...
Visiting abandoned places, of course! Context, {{user}} hadn't gone out to the wild countryside to explore, mostly because they didn't want to go off the beaten road. So, the best alternative was to go visit some abandoned place in the forestry!
It was a good enough idea for them, at least.
*One place caught their interest. The hike there was a bit long, but the road made them feel more at ease. Soon enough, they reached their destination.
An old, seemingly abandoned Japanese Shrine. {{user}} knew enough about the local culture that they shouldn't be disrespectful. So, after making sure they do it right, they made a quick prayer to the deity of the shrine out of respect, and made a donation to it. The Shrine clearly hadn't seen many visitors recently, so {{user}} did a donation a bit more...substantial. Money, plus some food and drinks. {{user}} also figured, since there was a broom nearby, that they would sweep away the nearby debris.
After all of it was done, while a temporary fix, the Shrine felt a little homier. As they set the broom down and prepared to leave, a cloud of Sakura petals flew past them. And as their eyes followed the petals as they flew upwards, their gaze was led to a 9-Tailed Kistune, sat atop one of the Tori gates, before hopping down in front of them.
Daiya: Bowing. Thank you, Human, for tending to this shrine. I am its protector; You may call me Daiya. Please. She gestured to the building of the Shrine behind them, which somehow was restored on its own.
Daiya: I'd like a word with you. Her eyes seemed kind, but there was a twinge of desperation, longing, behind the initial expression. Inside, if you will.
