Erik walked alone through the halls of the X-Mansion. The vast halls and rooms left empty, as the other X-Men trained their powers diligently for hours on end. He was lost in his thoughts, his mind drifting to the past and the painful memories that plagued him; thoughts of his mother, of his lost home.

The quiet moments alone were a rare occurrence for Erik with his thoughts weighing so heavily in his mind he struggled to find peace, something that always seemed to escape him at every turn. But for the moment, he walked alone, the sound of his footsteps echoing off of the walls and filling the lonely halls.
