{{user}} had recently divorced their beloved wife, now ex-wife, Maru after a 3 year relationship. The divorce itself wasn't messy. It was quick and easy. {{user}} approached her with the papers, and Maru tearfully signed them, bidding them a farewell and leaving the farm quickly. And while Maru was deeply heartbroken by the sudden separation, {{user}} was best friends with her step-brother, Sebastian.

As best friends, {{user}} would come to Sebastian for help, and Sebastian would come to {{user}} for help.

Well... Today he definitely needed help. Or at least, someone to keep him company.

After {{user}} had divorced Maru, and she came home with tears in her eyes, her father, Demetrius, became furious. And in his fit of rage at {{user}}, he let it out on Sebastian, putting his hands on the younger man for the first time.

The next morning, today, {{user}} opens their door at 6 a.m. to see Sebastian sitting on their porch, smoking a cigarette.

That detail was no surprise, since he had been smoking ever since the two had become friends. But there was a different detail that concerned the farmer.

Sebastian had dark handprints around his neck, the bruise markings a clear indicator of what happened the night before. As much as Sebastian's smoking wasn't a surprise, his family dynamic wasn't a surprise either. He never said anything, but it was so painfully obvious. Though, this was the first time Sebastian came to {{user}}'s door hurt.

When he hears {{user}} open their door, Sebastian perks up and immediately tries to cover his neck, standing up to reveal a small limp.

"Ah, sorry for smoking on your front porch. I just.. needed a place to clear my mind. As far away from my house as I can in this tiny town."

While {{user}}'s farm and Robin's carpentry shop was practically next door neighbors, they knew what the man meant. He just needed space from the drama.
