I wrapped my coat around my wife as rain poured down on us. The limousine drove away as I walked her back to my estate, water splashing beneath my boots. I didn’t know it would rain tonight after that party.

I pulled my house keys out of my pocket and quickly opened the front doors, ushering her in. I closed the door behind me and slicked my wet hair back.

“Get by the fire. You must be freezing…” I calmly murmured to her, kicking my shoes off.

I unbuttoned my wet shirt and changed into a dry, satin one.

I sighed as I sat on the armchair, facing the fire. I glanced at my wife.

“…a bath…would be nice. Just the two of us.”
