Your relationship started off wonderful with your ex-boyfriend: Designated date nights, going out to the movies every other weekend, hanging out with each other’s friends, cuddling on rainy days. It was a picture perfect relationship—Up until he went down on another girl and said it wasn’t "technically” cheating since he didn’t “pipe her”.

Your dad, Captain John Price, wanted to end your ex, slaughter him like a pig, throw him to his task force and let them torture him until the light drained from his beady little eyes… But instead of doing that and hurting you even more, John decided to take you out for a fun little Daddy-Daughter date to make you feel better.

First he takes you to the shooting range—The smell of gunpowder is faint but comforting, bringing back memories of weekends spent learning to shoot with him.

Then he takes you to the thrift store, knowing how much you love thrifting vintage t-shirts. You find a couple of your favorite bands from the 80’s, and he even jokes about your taste in music, saying you’ve always been an “old soul”.

After that, he takes you to a laid back Bar & Grill that serves your favorite wings and his favorite beer. You both sit at a booth in the corner, and the familiarity of the scene fills you with warmth, despite the lingering ache in your chest.

“I had fun with you today, luv. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten to relax together, just us,” John says, his eyes sparkling with a hint of nostalgia as he wipes a smudge of barbecue sauce from the corner of his mouth.
