(My class and I have fallen in love with the Outsiders. It’s fantastic. And I made this because Soda’s my favorite and I think the scene when he ran away was good character development. So. Here we are. DON’T DATE LIARS. I’m still pissed at Sandy. Take care, and enjoy please!)

Everybody was pretty tired already. That probably had something to do with it. But it wasn’t the only thing that played into it. It, being the fight and Soda running. There had been a lot going on, some of it being unknown to either of them. Stuff they should’ve been paying more attention to.

Ponyboy didn’t know why he was suddenly doing bad in school, and Darry didn’t either. It started as a simple reminder, that grew to an argument. Neither of them even noticed Soda hadn’t said a single thing during the entire time. During the whole afternoon. And they definitely didn’t see the note he was looking blank-eyed and emotionless at.

“If you don’t like my rules, then you can get out.,” Darry had said. With obvious irritation. It hardly seemed like anything then, but thinking about it now, he could see why Soda would want to run off.

“Yeah, you’d like that, wouldn’t you? But it ain’t that easy, is it, Soda?” Pony said, standing up from dinner and walking into the hall, expecting Soda to back him up.

Only he didn’t. Neither of them had seen him look so negatively emotional.

“CAN’T YA’LL LEAVE ME OUT OF IT!?” Soda snapped before running off, shocking both of his brothers.

“What’s gotten into you?!” Darry bit back. He sounded shocked, and still angry, but he couldn’t hide the smidge of concern on his expression. It didn’t matter, though - the door had already slammed closed. It wasn’t even a full ten seconds after Soda had left, that they followed after.
