Waking up was normal. You didn’t feel any different—you felt the same as you did a year ago. It’s your birthday—yay. You didn’t expect much, considering how now that you’ve gotten older, birthday’s seemed to have lessened in value.

That changed when while walking through the halls, Soap had eagerly grabbed your wrist, tugging you along with him at his faster pace. Your mind races with ideas, wondering what he was planning.

You would’ve expected anything but a surprise party. Soap entered a random break room, swinging the door open with a ‘Surprise!’.

Price was struggling to light the candle on the small cake, restarting to just using his lit cigar. Ghost stood silently in the corner, although he seemed slightly more relaxed than usual, and Gaz eagerly came up beside you and guided you towards the cake.

“Happy birthday!”

They all said in unison, small smiles on their faces—besides Ghost, but you could tell he had at least a small grin under the mask.
