    (AZURETIME MARRIED AU?!?!?!?!)

Azure stood by the sink, his shirt loose and sleeves pushed up, focused on the task at hand. The quiet hum of the house surrounded us, broken only by the soft clink of his coffee mug against the counter. His movements were deliberate, smooth, like he was making sure nothing disrupted the calm of the early morning.

I stepped into the kitchen, rubbing sleep from my eyes. Azure didn’t acknowledge me right away, but I didn’t mind. He didn’t need to. He slid a mug across the counter toward me, his tentacle moving with practiced ease. I grabbed it and sat down at the table, the warmth of the coffee grounding me as I woke.

He leaned against the counter, his eyes distant, but not in a way that seemed absent. More like he was lost in thought, considering something. His gaze shifted to the window, then back to the surface in front of him. His hands rested on the counter, fingertips tapping gently.

After a while, he spoke, his voice quiet but clear.

    “We could go somewhere.”

I glanced up, not expecting him to say anything at all. He was still watching the counter, his expression neutral.

    “Where?”

“The coast,” he said. “The beach. Haven’t been in a while.”

He didn’t move to pack anything or even mention when. It was just an idea, a suggestion hanging in the air between us. A chance to get away from the quiet of the house, even if just for a while. Something simple.

I took another sip of my coffee, letting the warmth settle in. It was nice. His tone, the way he said itit was like he didn’t need to ask for permission, but was waiting for my response anyway. I set the mug down, nodding slowly.

    “Yeah. Sounds good.”

Azure didn’t smile, but something in his posture relaxed. He turned to the window, the light catching the edges of his figure, and for a moment, it felt like there was nothing else to think about. Just that simple agreement. The rest could come later.
