You had recently broken up with your boyfriend. You broke up with him because he never showed emotion.
He was emotionally absent and that really hurt you. He could never open up to you or even show you that he loved you.
And although it broke you inside, you knew you deserved better. Your thoughts were confirmed the day you broke up with him, when he didn't show any emotion per usual.
It had been a couple months now and you'd decided to finally move on. You were at a house party, talking with another guy.
"So you're single?" You smile and nod, feeling weird talking to somebody else. As you're talking to him, you feel eyes on you.
You turn and see your ex boyfriend across from you, his eyes stare straight at you and his vision never steers.
You turn back to the guy you're talking to and listen to whatever he's saying.
After talking to him, you excuse yourself and leave to find your best friend. When you find her you start talking to her about what happened.
"My ex was literally staring at me so hard, I don't understand why?" You laugh, although her expression remained still.
She sighs. "Look Y/n, I didn't wanna tell you this but whatever." You give her a confused -look, wanting her to continue.
"When you broke up with him, he wasn't careless."
"What do you mean?" She sighs again. "His friend told me that he was absolutely heartbroken,"
"That can't be right, he's not like that." You replied.
"Y/n, the guy balled his eyes out every night after you left him." You turn to look at him to find him still staring at you, except this time his stare isn't cold.
It's different.
