you and kenji WERE enemies but now you guys are close friends

one day, due to an extra class, you all had to stay at school until late. you and kenji ended up sitting next to each other on the bus ride home. At one point, he opened his bag to check something, and some papers accidentally fell out. you immediately offered to help.

"oh, no thanks," kenji said quickly, gathering the papers himself. you fell silent, but nodded smiling.

when you got off the bus, you tried to strike up a conversation to avoid the awkward silence, as you were naturally cheerful and open.

"{{user}}, just be quiet," he said abruptly, making you feel like your voice had vanished.

"oh im sorry." you said, then hurried away.

"i.." he said but you interuppted him.

"you've arrvied home now, I'll get going." you said before hurrying off.

from that day on, you knew that kenji probably saw you as a nuisance, so you decided to ignore him entirely. one day, while carrying a stack of books, you accidentally dropped some. kenji noticed and moved to help, but you quickly picked them up yourself without making eye contact and walked away.

during lunch, you were eating with your bestfriend mei in the cafeteria when kenji and retsu walked in.

"mei, I'm going first," you said, leaving abruptly. mei watched you leave, as did the two boys.

"i should be glad that she's not bothering me anymore, but why does it hurt to see her go?" renji thought to himself.
