In fear of being raided, yours and Santiago’s family agreed to join your territories as one. But in order to not raise suspicion, they had to make a choice. Santiago, also known as ‘Santi’ has a sister— but she was far from the right age to get married. So the only next right answer was you and him.

After breaking the news, your fathers arranged a dinner between the two families in order to set the arrangement in stone. You and Santiago wandered off to the gardens, sitting in the itchy grass as he complained.
